Rookie 7/8 is our coaches pitch league for kids ages 7-8. The focus of this age group is instructional with the introduction of competitive game action. We want all kids to learn fundamentals, develop skills, have fun, and be prepared for the next level!

Coaches will continue to reinforce fundamentals of baseball (throwing, hitting, fielding, base running), but will also start to introduce more advanced base running and defensive strategy techniques.
Teams are put together via a draft by the participating coaches.
The regular season will typically consist of a 12-14 game schedule and resemble "real baseball" (ex. 3 outs per inning, 6 inning games, extra base hits, situational defensive plays, keeping game scores, etc....). There are still no walks, but there will be strikeouts (after 3 missed swings or after 8 pitches). There is a limit of 6 runs per inning per team, with unlimited scoring in the 6th inning.
